Dear Chinese Government Scholarship recipients,
The annual review of Chinese government scholarship recipients is in process. This year the annual review will be carried out online. If awardees are not able to pass the annual review, the scholarship will be suspended or canceled. Details are as follows:
- Students who have to participate in the annual review
- Those who want to be re-awarded a Chinese government scholarship after August 2022;
- Those who had planned to graduate in July 2022 but have filed to extend their studies and have met the extension requirements (only for doctoral students);
- Those who have temporarily suspended their studies and thus their graduation has been postponed to July 2022 or January 2023, but are not able to graduate in the aforementioned month and plan to extend their studies (only for doctoral students);
- Those who will not be able to graduate on time as the study plan but have got official notice that their scholarship will be extended (only for doctoral students);
- Those who did not pass last year’s annual review and the Chinese government scholarship was suspended;
- Those who meet the following conditions are not required to participate in the annual review:
- Students who is now in suspension of study and hard to keep contact with his/her school;
- Students who keeps suspension of study from the very beginning;
- Doctoral students who has ever been granted extension of scholarships are not allowed to participate in annual review.
- What is taken into consideration?
- Morality, mainly including attitudes towards China, obedience of Chinese laws, obedience of Shandong University’s regulations, individual behavior;
- Academic performance, including academic records of the first semester, and the evaluation of thesis proposal;
- Study and research attitudes, including attendance and devotion in classes and research, completion of assignments;
- Participation in activities, including participation and achievements in any activity in 2021/2022 academic year, such as academic, sporting and cultural activities, volunteering and so on.
- Chinese government scholarship recipients receive a score based on the above mentioned four criteria, and the maximum score is 100. Those who get less than 60 will be deemed as failing to pass the annual review. After getting approval from the China Scholarship Council, the scholarship to the awardees will be suspended or canceled.
- Self-assessment online
This year, self-assessment will be carried out online. For how to finish online self-assessment, please refer to the document Guidance of system operation for students.
The self-assessment begins from May 2nd,2022 and ends on May 20th, 2022. Please finish within the given period.
