Professor Xu is a Second-class Professor of Shandong University, Senior Visiting Scholar of Hartford Hospital, USA, Director of Department of Teaching and Research Center of Urology, and Deputy Director of Urology, Shandong University Qilu Hospital.

Professor Xu served as the Chairman of the Shandong Urologic Association, national member of the Chinese Urologic Association, national member of the Chinese Andrology Association, Chairman of the Shandong Doctors’ Association of Andrology, Chairman of the Shandong Urology Resident Training Quality Control Committee, Chairman of the Shandong Committee of the Urology Endoscopic Surgery Quality Inspection Center, Director of the Endoscopic Training Center of the Ministry of Health, Shandong Branch.

Professor Xu served as the Chief Editor of the Doctor Forum-Current Urology, Editor of the Journal of Chinese Urology, the Journal of Chinese Andrology, the Journal of Clinical Urology, Current Urology, Shandong Medical Journal, International Journal of Oncology, the Journal of Endoscopic Surgery, Medical journal of Shandong University, Medicine and Tumor Biology etc.

Professor Xu’s clinical interest is in the clinical management and research of the Urological Oncology, especially in the minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of urological oncology, rare andrological disease. He currently hosts the Qilu Urological Oncology translational lab focusing on understanding the mechanism of the carcinogenesis and progression of prostate and kidney cancer. His work has received funding from the National Science foundation of China and the Provincial Science foundation of Shandong.
