Dr.Wu is the subject leader of Department of Ophthalmology, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, doctoral supervisor, second-class professor and honorary professor of Shandong University, the honorary medical expert of Qilu Medical College of Shandong University, the leader of medicine and health in Shandong Province, the leader of the first outstanding discipline of Medicine and health in Shandong Province, and the only person employed in the key positions of Ophthalmology in Shandong University. She is also a member of Ophthalmology branch of Chinese Medical Association and head of immunology group, vice chairman of Shandong Ophthalmology Society, standing member of the first committee of Ophthalmology branch of China geriatric medical association, member of Ophthalmology Professional Committee of China Association of female physicians, member of the ocular surface and tear diseases group and the ophthalmology branch of the Chinese Medical Association. She serves as the editorial board member of the Chinese Journal of Ophthalmology, the Journal of Ophthalmology progress, the evaluation expert of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
 
She graduated from Shandong University School of Medicine, completed her ophthalmological residency at Qilu Hospital, and engaged in ophthalmology career for over 30 years. She is expertise in anterior segment diseases , especially in cataract, keratopathy, dry eye and lacrimal duct diseases. She is the first one to use therapeutic contact lenses in china and achieved good results, also the first one to treat orbital tumor with radiotherapy in China.
 
She is the first one to carry out the study on artificial cornea in China, and has been devoted to the experimental research of corneal infection, wound repair and tissue engineering cornea for many years. She has been supported by nearly 20 projects, including 7 projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She has published more than 200 papers in famous journals at home and abroad, of which nearly 80 papers are included in SCI and cited by CA and EI for many times.
