With more than 30 years of medical experience, Prof. Chen has rich clinical experience and extensive professional knowledge. She is good at diagnosis and treating various endocrine and metabolic system diseases, especially in the prevention and treatment of diabetes and its complications. She and her team were one of the first to carry out autologous bone marrow stem cell transplantation to treat diabetes in China. She has also made unique achievements in diagnosing and treating various diseases of the thyroid, pituitary and adrenal gland as well as other rare and complicated diseases of the endocrine and metabolic system.

Projects Undertaken:
A total of 41 projects have been undertaken, including 2 science and technology support projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, 2 projects of the National Key R&D Program, 1 sub-project of the “863” Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and 3 general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Prof. Chen has published 206 papers in core journals at home and abroad, of which 67 are included in SCI. She won 2 second prizes and 1 third prize of Shandong Science and Technology Progress Award, and was awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award of China Insulin Secretion Research" by the Chinese Medical Association.
Cultivation and International cooperation:
At present, Prof. Chen has supervised more than 40 doctoral students and 90 master students. Since 2006, she has cooperated with Yale University School of Medicine, Baylor School of Medicine, University of Florida School of Medicine, and University of Sydney, Australia. 12 outstanding doctoral students were sent abroad to study in these high-level research institutions, which has improved the overall academic discipline Level and academic status of the department.
