Dr. Xinguo Hou is one of the Outstanding Young Experts of Cheeloo College of Medical. He is national member of Chinese Society of Endocrinology(CSE), deputy leader of Islet Regulation and Regenerative Medicine Group of CSE, Deputy Chairman of Diabetes Association of Shandong province,etc. Since 2001, he has been working in the Department of Endocrinology, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. From 2006 to 2008, he went to the Mayo Clinic and Baylor College of Medicine in the United States as visiting scholar focusing on the research of diabetes and obesity. In 2012, he went to Sheffield Royal Hospital for clinical training. Dr. Hou has a solid theoretical and practical foundation and rich experience in diagnosis and treatment of various endocrine and metabolic diseases, including diabetes, thyroid disease, pituitary disease and adrenal disease. Now he is the leader of the sub-specialty of growth and development, focusing on various children and adolescents' metabolic diseases and abnormal growth and development diseases. He has long been focused on the research of the metabolic diseases, including the pathogenesis, complications and stem cell intervention treatment. He has published nearly 30 articles as first author or corresponding author, including 22 SCI articles. He has presided over 7 research projects and participated in more than 10 projects。 He has got Shandong Province Science and Technology Progress Awards twice, and Shandong Provincial Department of Education Research Award twice.
