Mei Zhang, M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Cardiology, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, Jinan, Shandong, P.R.China. She focuses on diagnosis and drug treatment of coronary heart diseases, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, heart failure and common arrhythmia. Main research direction is the scientific and clinical research of cardiovascular remodeling and function, echocardiography technology. Using non-invasive ultrasound technology, radionuclide and CT technique, Mei Zhang is carrying on a series of clinical research about the diagnosis and treatment of coronary and carotid artery plaque, as well as the coronary artery function and myocardial perfusion. Mei Zhang also dedicates to molecular biological basis and clinical studies in the field of the ultrasound assessment of cardiac function, therapy of heart failure, filtering of patient serum markers, pathogenesis and intervention targets of plaque vulnerability, the relationship between biomechanics and arterial remodeling as well as the onco logy cardiology. As the Principal Investigator of 863 Programs, 973 Programs, NSFC, Chinese National Programs for High Technology Research and Development, and the 13th Five Years Key Programs for Science and Technology Development of China, Mei Zhang has undertaken the national 863 special project, 973 major sub-project, the surface project of national natural science foundation (6 items), the overseas youth cooperation funding, 13.5 national key research and development project, the provincial and ministerial ranking and so on, which are more than 10 projects. Over 200 published papers have been accepted in the domestic and foreign specialized magazines (SCI included more than 70 papers). Holding a total of 18 works as the editor-in-chief or co-editor. And won the national science and technology awards (the second prize for twice and the third prize for 3 times), the provincial science and technology awards (the first prize for 4 times, the second prize for 4 times and the third prize for 3 times). Mei Zhang also serves as the magazine editor of Chinese Journal of Arteriosclerosis, Chinese Journal of Ultrasound Imaging, Journal of Clinical Cardiovascular Disease, Chinese Medical Imaging Technology, Cardiolo-Oncology and so on. Mei Zhang has been awarded the title of Outstanding Contribution Young and Middle-aged Expert from the Ministry of Health, Shandong Province Medical Discipline Leader, 2020 Leading Talent, Shandong Province Health System Technological Innovation Talent and so on. She is also the FACC fellow and holding positions in multiple national scientific organizations.
