Professor Xingang Li is the chief physician and professor of Department of Neurosurgery. He is also the dean of the Institute of Brain and Brain-Inspired Sciences of Shandong University. Clinically, he is the vice chairman of the Chinese Neurosurgical Society and the vice chairman of the Chinese Association of Neurosurgeons. Academically, he serves as the deputy editor in chief of the Chinese Journal of Neurosurgery. He was awarded national outstanding scientific and technological expert, Taishan Scholar, young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions (Ministry of Health and Shandong Province), and Distinguished Professor of Shandong University for his professional medical-practice as a neurosurgeon as well as his scientific contribution to the field of neurosurgical sciences.
 
Engaging in neurosurgical practice, teaching and scientific research for over 38 years, Professor Xingang Li has successfully carried out numerous extremely difficult and highly complex surgical operations for brain tumors, cerebrovascular diseases, mild and severe traumatic brain injuries, and functional neurosurgery. He has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and expertise in diagnosis and treatment of such diseases. Professor Xingang Li has won 19 awards in total, including the 1^st/2^nd/3rd prizes of Shandong Province Science and Technology Progress Award, the 3^rd prize of Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, and has published over 200 papers in academic journals nationally and internationally, of which over 100 were collected by SCI. He is also the co-editor or editor-in-chief for18 books.
