Dr. Shuo Xu is a professor of Department of Neurosurgery, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. He acquired his Ph.D. and M.D. degrees in Shandong University with the honor of “Excellent doctoral dissertations in Shandong Province”. He had an oversea research experience in University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Now he is an international member of American Association of Neurological Surgeons, as well as a member and the secretary of the neuromodulation expert committee of Shandong Medical Doctor Association. Dr. Xu holds multiple grants from NFSC and Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province. He has published several peer-reviewed articles as the first author on the journals of JNCI, Neuro-Oncology, etc. Due to his academic achievement, Dr. Xu was awarded as a “Taishan Scholarship” young expert in 2019.
Dr. Xu has been trained and granted as the very first specialists of neurosurgery by the Chinese Medical Doctor Association in 2017. He has a clinical interest in the field of functional neurosurgery, including the drug-resistant epilepsy, the movement disorders (Parkinson’s Disease, essential tremor, dystonia, etc.), and the cranial nerve disorders (trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm, etc.) and corresponding neuromodulation therapeutics. He is also interested in the awake mapping and resection of gliomas within eloquent cortex and surgical robot-assisted stereotactic brain biopsy.
