Graduated from Shandong University with Ophthalmology PhD degree in 2005, and completed a research fellowship at National Eye Institute/National Institutes of Health. Appointed as professor in 2009 at the Department of Ophthalmology, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. Now served in the Department of Geriatrics, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University.

Dr. Qu’s clinical and research interests mainly focus on age-related macular degeneration, complicated retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, and vitreo-retinal interface disorders.

Dr. Qu is the director of Ophthalmology & Visual Science Society of Shandong Research Hospital Association, chief expert of Shandong Retinal Diseases Internet Union, has been on the junior board of Chinese Ophthalmological Society.

Dr. Qu’s researches are financially aided from National Natural Science Foundation of China, Science and Technology Department of Shandong Province, etc.

Dr. Qu has more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals and translated the 4^th, 5^th, and 7^th Editions of The Wills Eye Manual.

Among Dr. Qu’s awards and honors are Science & Technology Progress Award from Shandong Province Government (2^nd and 3^rd degree prizes).
