He has been engaged in the clinical, teaching and scientific research of thoracic surgery, and committed to the diagnosis, treatment and research of thoracic surgery. He had rich clinical experience, excellent technology. He is professional in minimally invasive thoracic surgery. He was the first to perform subxiphoid minimal invasive surgery worldwide and earlier to perform double lung lesions resection, right pneumonectomy and other minimally invasive surgery in China. He performed combined thoracoscopic and laparoscopic esophagectomy earlier in China and the amount of such operation ranks 1^st in Shandong Province. It reduces postoperative complications, improves the quality of life of patients, and is highly praised by patients. Minimally invasive surgeries for esophageal cancer have been carried out and promoted in more than 30 hospitals in shandong Province. He founded and held several academic conferences, such as Qilu Minimally Invasive Thoracic Forum, Qilu Esophageal Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Summit etc.. Moreover, he has been invited to attend national and international academic conferences for many times, and delivered speeches and live broadcasts of surgeries. So far, he has cultivated more than 60 postgraduate/doctoral students. He undertook more than 10 national and provincial scientific research projects, such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the sub-project of the "12th Five-Year plan" major New drug Creation Project etc.. He won more than 10 scientific research awards, such as the second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Shandong Province. He published more than 40SCI papers. By his management, the Department of Thoracic Surgery was ranked 5th in the 2016 National Hospital Internet Influence Ranking-the department most trusted by patients, and 8th in the 2016 Annual Chinese Hospital Science and Technology Influence Evaluation Ranking. ERAS team of Thoracic Surgery, as the only representative team of China, took part in the First International Quality Improvement Competition held by ISQua at the 36th annual meeting finally won the First prize. Because of this achievement, he was awarded with the "Outstanding Contribution Award" by China Hospital Quality Management Alliance.
