The blood purification Center of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University was established in 1978, and was called artificial kidney room. The first kidney transplant was performed in 1978. In 2000, it was renamed Qilu Hospital Blood Purification and Organ Transplantation Center. At present, the center's machine configuration and performance, personnel, business scope are leading in Shandong province. All work of kidney transplantation and blood purification can be implemented in our center.

Kidney transplantation in our hospital was started in 1978, and it is one of the first kidney transplantation units in Shandong Province. Since 1987, a large number of kidney transplants have been carried out. At present, more than 90 cases of kidney transplants have been completed each year. The longest survival time of patients after kidney transplantation is 13 years. The success rate was 98% in patients with kidney transplantation in recent 5 years. Both cadaver and relative kidney transplantation are routinely carried out. In recent years, the age exclusion zone of kidney transplantation has been continuously broken through, and kidney transplantation for the elderly has achieved unprecedented success. The minimum age and body weight of kidney transplant patients is 4 years old and 13kg. Our hospital took the lead in the province to complete the kidney transplantation, cornea transplantation, joint transplantation, and heart transplantation and so on. In November 1999, "the Chinese medical association shandong professional committee of organ transplantation" was initiated and set up by Qilu hospital of Shandong university. The committee did a lot of social work in the organ transplant technology popularization, promoting the legislation of "brain death", popular science propaganda about organ donation and prepare for set up organ transplant fund.

At present, we have comprehensive diagnostic and treatment conditions for organ transplantation: 1. Tissue matching types such as blood type, lymphotoxin, PRA, HLA, MICA, etc. The organ transplantation laboratory has been certified by Terasaky International. 2. Monitoring the concentration of cyclosporin and FK506, etc. 3. Uremia patients can be treated comprehensively in our department. Our department can provide kidney rehabilitation, surgery, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, kidney transplantation and other effective treatment methods.

The Blood Purification and Organ Transplantation Center of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University has achieved a good effect in treating patients with acute and chronic renal failure, and has a high success rate in rescuing all kinds of serious complications of uremia. We have rich experience in rescuing various drugs and poisons poisoning cases. The treatment of hyperlipidemia is safe, comfortable and efficient. The treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus, multiple myeloma, myasthenia gravis, Guillain - Barre syndrome, acute nephritis, Goodparture syndrome, severe rheumatoid arthritis and other diseases by immunosorbent and double filtration plasmapheresis have achieved good results. The artificial liver technology is leading in the country with a high rescue success rate. The artificial liver technology not only provides strong support for liver transplantation, but also enables some patients to recover completely.

There are 45 medical staff, all of whom have rich clinical experience in the treatment of kidney disease and blood purification. All doctors have a master's degree or doctor's degree in internal medicine or surgery. Blood purification nurses are experienced nurses who have been engaged in dialysis for more than 3 years, including 3 supervisors, 1 full-time supervisors, 14 nurses, and 30 college graduates or above.
The center is equipped with a ward, with 52 beds in the ward and 40 beds in the dialysis room. Meanwhile, it has functional units such as the organ transplant intensive care unit, operating room, hemodialysis room and patient reception room, which can meet the various medical requirements of patients. We have 11 GambroAK-96 dialysis machines, 7 GambroAK - 95s dialysis machines, 2 DIALOG dialysis machines, 4 TR8000 dialysis machines, 4 fresenius 4008H hemodialysis filtration machines, 1 GambroAK – 200 online hemodialysis filtration machine, 1 Japan Plasauto IQ21 blood purification machine, 1 Gambro hemofiltration machine prisma flex, and Gambro against ooze water equipment made in Sweden. It can complete hemodialysis, hemodiafiltration, artificial liver, blood lipid purification, double plasma exchange, immunosorbent, hemoperfusion and other treatments. All kinds of alarm monitoring device system ensure the accuracy of water removal and safety of dialysis. With the country's first reverse osmosis pipeline thermal disinfection treatment device, really do let patients feel at ease to do hemodialysis treatment. At the same time, it is equipped with 8 Philip monitors, a ventilator and a Ford ambulance, which creates favorable conditions for poisoning rescue, critical rescue and transplant work.

For chronic maintenance hemodialysis patients, the center adheres to the implementation of individualized dialysis

Intermittent HF or HDF treatment ensures timely removal of medium and large molecular toxins, greatly improving the survival rate and quality of life of dialysis patients, and the incidence of systemic itching, heart, digestion, blood, bone, nerve and mental system complications is extremely low. At the same time treating the body, attention was also paid to psychological treatment. Patients were followed up for systematic management.
