Qilu Hospital Hosted the Second General Election of the Youth Professional Committee of Neurosurgery of Shandong Pain Medicine Association and Forum on Precise Diagnosis and Treatment of Glioma

Recently, the Second General Election of the Youth Professional Committee of Neurosurgery of Shandong Pain Medicine Association and Forum on Precise Diagnosis and Treatment of Glioma hosted by Shandong Pain Medicine Association and Qilu Hospital of Shandong University was held in Jinan, Shandong. Cheng Yufeng, vice president of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Li Feng, associate professor of neurosurgery at Qilu Hospital of Shandong University presided over the ceremony. The conference was held both physically and virtually. More than 170 people attended the conference, including scholars and young professionals in neurosurgery, oncology, cerebrovascular diseases and other related fields from hospitals all over Shandong Province.
In his opening speech, Cheng Yufeng pointed out that the concept of precision medicine and molecular subtyping have brought the treatment of glioma into a new stage. Scholars exchanged views on the precise diagnosis and treatment of glioma under the guidance of molecular subtyping, aiming to strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration, improve the standardization of glioma diagnosis and treatment and bring more benefit to patients.


 
The general election was hosted by professor Liang Lishuang, vice chairman of Shandong Pain Medicine Association and director of the Pain Department of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. The election was guided by Liu Yuguang, professor of Neurosurgery Department at Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. The new chairman and vice chairman of the committee, members of the standing committee, and secretary were elected democratically. Li Feng was elected as chairman of the committee, associate chief physician of the Emergency Department Zhang Zeli the vice chairman of the committee, associate chief physician of the Neurosurgery Department Yang Ning member of the standing committee, and attending doctor of the Neurosurgery Department Zhang Kailiang and Xu Wenzhe were elected as the secretaries. Cheng Yufeng, Liu Yuguang, Liang Lishuang and professor Wang Guodong of Neurosurgery Department at Shandong Provincial Hospital gave certificates to the newly elected.


 
This forum invited well-known scholars of Department of Neurosurgery, Radiology, Pathology and Oncology at Qilu Hospital, the Second Hospital of Shandong University, Shandong Provincial Hospital, the 960th Hospital of the PLA, Shandong Provincial Qianfoshan Hospital, ZiBo Central Hospital and Weifang Brain Hospital to give lectures, share the frontiers of knowledge of the precise diagnosis and treatment of glioma and have MDT case discussions of glioma. Professor Li Gang, director of the Neurosurgery Department of Qilu Hospital gave a lecture of “the R&D and Clinical Transformation of the New Technique for Liquid Biopsy of Glioma”, sharing his group’s latest research of glioma. Professor Liu Yuguang gave a lecture named “A Few Questions about Surgical Treatment of Low-grade Gliomas” and shared related experiences. Professor Wang Chengwei of the Second Hospital of Shandong University gave a lecture of “Treatment Options of Brain Metastases”. Professor Hanbo of Qilu Hospital gave a lecture of “Progress in Molecular Pathological Diagnosis of Diffuse Glioma”. Professor Yang Qiuan of Qilu Hospital gave a lecture named “Advances in Precision Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy for Glioma”. Professor Zhu Weijie of the 960th Hospital of the PLA delivered a lecture of “Precise Treatment of Glioma Guided by Molecular Pathology”. Professor Li Meng of Shandong Provincial Qianfoshan Hospital shared his views upon “Advances in Molecular Pathology of Glioma and its Clinical Implications”. Professor He Jingzhen gave a lecture of “Precise Imaging Evaluation of Glioma” and professor Li Feng delivered a lecture of “Maximum Safe Resection of Glioma with Precise Guidance of Multimodal Techniques”.
 
The conference was divided into two sessions: one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. With simultaneous online broadcasts, the conference was very informative and insightful. The online broadcast received 270,000 views in total. Scholars’ lectures and professional case sharing aroused a heated discussion among online audiences.
