On March 1, Li Tao, director of the Foreign Expert Service Division of the Department of Science& Technology of Shandong province, and his entourage visited Qilu Hospital to conduct a special investigation on the progress of the International Top Scientist Workstation of the Institute of Brain and Brain-Inspired Sciences. The meeting was presided over by Sun Fengshou, director of International Affairs Department of Shandong University. Cheng Yufeng, vice president of Qilu Hospital, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Li Xingang, dean of the Institute of Brain and Brain-Inspired Sciences, gave an introduction to the workstation.
In his speech, Cheng Yufeng said that in recent years, the hospital has adhered to the development strategy of "Strengthening the hospital by disciplines and revitalizing the hospital with talents" and attached great importance to talent introduction and the construction of international cooperation platform. With the policy support and help of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee, Shandong Provincial Government and Department of Science& Technology of Shandong province, and relying on the platform advantages of Shandong University, the hospital has achieved remarkable results in talent construction. In the future, it will give full play to the innovative leading role of international top talents and make its contribution to the strategy of "Invigorating Shandong province by talents".
Li Xingang introduced the talent construction of high-end brain science at Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, and gave a specific introduction to the role of international top scientists, the positioning, goal, management system, operating mechanism, construction planning and design, and budget of the workstation.
Sun Fengshou delivered a report entitled "Introducing foreign talents to promote international scientific research cooperation," focusing on the general situation of Shandong University's talent introduction project, seed fund for international scientific research cooperation, as well as key work of foreign expert cooperation and construction of scientific research platform.
Li Tao commended the achievements made by Shandong University and Qilu Hospital in talent introduction, international platform construction, and cooperation in scientific and technological innovation. He said that our province encourages the construction of major projects, including major scientific and technological innovation projects, and we would actively implement new talent policies such as "one case, one meeting" for the introduction of top overseas talents, and the Department of Science& Technology of Shandong province would coordinate and cooperate with relevant departments to jointly promote the work of international top scientist workstations. After an in-depth understanding of the existing problems in the construction and operation of the workstation, Li Tao gave detailed instructions and suggestions on issues including platform positioning, function design, operation mode, and funds management of the workstation.
Li Tao and his entourage also visited the Institute of Brain and Brain-Inspired Sciences, focusing on the establishment foundation of the international top scientist office, and understood conditions for office construction, R & D personnel, key technological breakthroughs, core product development, patent acquisition and funding capabilities.
Liu Debao, vice dean of the Department of Science and Technology Management of Shandong University, Cao Fenglin, director of the Office of Academic Research and International Exchange of Cheeloo College of Medicine, relevant person in charge of the International Affairs Department and Personnel Department of Shandong University, as well as relevant person in charge of the Personnel Department, Department of Academic Research, and International Office of Qilu Hospital attended the symposium.
