Medics of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University dispatched to Shanghai to aid COVID-19 fight

On April 3, Qilu Hospital dispatched 36 medical workers to aid in the battle against the resurging COVID-19 epidemic in Shanghai. The rousing send-off took place in the meeting room at the Xinxing Building. Hou Junping, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Qilu Hospital, Chen Yuguo, President of Qilu Hospital, and leading group of the hospital attended the meeting.

In his speech, Hou Junping said that the medical team should take proper prevention and control measures, build the Party branch of the team immediately, give full play to the role of the temporary Party branch as a stronghold and the exemplary role of Party members, carry forward the spirit of “respect lives, save the injured, willing to dedicate, and love without conditions”, help each other, and follow orders to accomplish the mission successfully. Hou Junping also said that the hospital should make every effort to support the dispatched staff.
Chen Yuguo pointed out that life is of the utmost importance. Qilu Hospital should give full play to the role of the “national team”, and medical workers should follow orders and bring mature experience, technical guidance, and operation system of previous pandemic fighting work to Shanghai to constantly enhance skills and efficiently do a good job in the aid work. In the meantime, medical team should strictly comply with the prevention and control requirements of hospital infection to make sure the medical staff have “zero infection”.
Vice president Han Hui made a detailed introduction of the resurging epidemic in Shanghai. Facing the highly transmissible Omicron and the complicated situation, members of the medical team should unite and help each other, stick to the prevention and control requirements, and give full play to their professional expertise to complete the aid task successfully.
