On the afternoon of August 19, Qilu Hospital held a talent work conference at the Academic Exchange Center. Chen Zijiang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chief Expert of Hospital of Reproductive Medicine Affiliated to Shandong University, Hou Junping, Secretary of the Party Committee of Qilu Hospital, Chen Yuguo, President of Qilu Hospital, Li Yan, Director of the Personnel and Talent Office of Cheeloo College of Medicine of Shandong University and Deputy Director of the Personnel Department (Talent Office) of Shandong University, Gao Rui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Control Science and Engineering of Shandong University, Liu Yuanyuan, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Department of Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, and Yu Xiao, Deputy Dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences of Shandong University attended the meeting. Xu Feng, Vice President of Qilu Hospital and Director of the Personnel Department presided over the meeting.
At the meeting, Chen Zijiang systematically reviewed the development of clinical research, analyzed the current situation and difficulties of clinical research in China, and explained the opportunities and challenges clinical research is facing. Chen Zijiang introduced the experience and achievements of Shandong University's reproductive medicine discipline construction, team talent construction and scientific research innovation development from the perspectives of platform construction, team construction, organization of major projects and high-level research team cooperation, etc.
Li Yan pointed out in his speech that our country’s investment in medical field has been increasing year by year, along with a variety of high-level talent programs being introduced. He analyzed policy changes of national and regional major talent projects, emphasized the adherence to CPC's overall leadership over talent work, introduced the existing talent system and talent growth path of Shandong University, and discussed the future trend of talent team construction.
Gao Rui introduced general talent profile and recent achievements of talent work of the School of Control Science and Engineering of Shandong University, and shared its successful experiences in talent introduction, cultivation, and talent project application.
Liu Yuanyuan introduced the specific measures of Xiangya Hospital in establishing its talent system from the aspects of construction ideas, management mechanism, macro layout, process management and talent ecological environment. She emphasized that talent team construction has promoted the high-speed and high-quality development of the hospital's medical work, teaching and scientific research, and helped Xiangya Hospital achieve good results in various rankings.
Yu Xiao gave an overview of the School of Basic Medical Sciences of Shandong University and the education system of their mentor team, and emphasized the importance of teamwork in talent training. She also shared experience and insights on how to carry out good scientific research from the aspects of cultivating people by virtue, inheritance of teamwork, and multidiscipline intersection.
Xu Feng comprehensively summarized the hospital's talent work achievements in the past two years, and interpreted the hospital's talent work tasks during the "14th Five-Year Plan", emphasizing the main role of disciplines in talent work. Xu Feng said that the hospital will further optimize the talent work measures and provide sufficient service and policy support for the construction of talent team.
Yang Xiaoyun, Director of the Department of Scientific Research, summed up a number of scientific research achievements of the hospital in the first half of 2022, and made arrangements for the hospital's future scientific research tasks, including the construction of scientific research integrity, application of National Natural Science Foundation, and work related to clinical trials, etc. She also gave details on application requirements of talent projects launched by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Feng Shiqing, Director of the Department of Orthopedics, introduced the excellent experience of the Department in talent training. By making use of the university’s various talent policies, the Department has built a good platform for talent education and introduction. By integrating medical work, teaching, and scientific research, discipline construction was promoted, and the Department innovatively built a talent eco-chain comprising “recognizing talents, gathering talents, introducing talents, cultivating talents, using talents and cherishing talents”.
Peng Jun, Executive Deputy Director of the Department of Hematology, introduced the discipline platform and talent team construction of the Department, shared its experience in discipline construction, national talent project application, scientific research transformation, and clinical research, etc., and emphasized the importance of international exchange and cooperation to talent cultivation.
Chen Yuguo affirmed the achievements the hospital has made in talent work, and emphasized that we still have a long way to go. He pointed out that the hospital’s high-quality development must adhere to the path of innovative development. The hospital attaches great importance to talent work, and strives to build a platform and provide conditions for talent cultivation and introduction, discipline construction and scientific research innovation. Chen Yuguo encouraged disciplines to enhance communication with experts and scholars, and strengthen external publicity and cooperation, so as to promote the construction of hospital’s talent team and discipline development.
The meeting thoroughly implemented the spirit of the central talent conference, focusing on the implementation of the strategy of "rejuvenating the hospital with talents". Based on fully summarizing the talent work in the past two years, experts shared opinions and suggestions, and formed a consensus that talents lead innovative development.
Nearly 200 people attended the conference, including leaders of the hospital, heads of functional departments, secretaries of Party branches, and directors of clinical departments, etc.
