On October 7, Liu Yan, Zuo Xinyi and Chen Peng, doctoral students of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University (the First Clinical College), jointly published a research paper titled “Deciphering transcriptome alterations in bone marrow hematopoiesis at single-cell resolution in immune thrombocytopenia” in Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy (Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS) Journal ranking Q1, IF=38.104). The map of single cell transcriptome of bone marrow hematopoietic stem / progenitor cells in patients with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) was drawn in this paper for the first time. This study reveals an immune ecosystem characterized by activation of immune response and defect of megakaryocyte formation in the bone marrow of patients with ITP, providing valuable resources for studying the molecular mechanism of hematopoietic stem / progenitor cells in the pathogenesis of ITP. Peng Jun, Wang Shuwen, the Department of Hematology of Qilu Hospital, and Ma Shihui, the Institute of Hematology of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, are co-authors of this research paper.

Qilu Hospital of Shandong University (the First Clinical College) has always kept in mind the original aspiration of "educating people for the Party and cultivating talents for the country" since its foundation. The hospital has been actively exploring innovative model of medical education, and paying attention to the planning and training of high-quality talents. In recent years, with the joint efforts of the whole hospital, teachers and students of the First Clinical College have achieved fruitful results.
