The 20th CPC National Congress opened on Sunday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing at 10 a.m. on Oct. 16. Staff of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University watched the opening ceremony, and carefully studied Xi Jinping’s report.


Hou Junping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the hospital, Chen Yuguo, President of the hospital, all members of the leading team, heads of the Party and administrative departments, and secretaries of every Party branch watched the opening ceremony together at the conference room of Xinxing Building. Party members of 81 Party branches of the hospital watched the ceremony via video links or on TV at 65 different venues. Some retired staff and students watched the ceremony by themselves. In addition, the opening ceremony were also broadcast live at some wards for patients and their families to witness the great event.



The report delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping sparked up a strong reaction among medical staff, teachers, and students of the hospital. Everyone thought that the 20th Party Congress is a very important conference held at a critical moment when we embark on a new journey to build a socialist modernization country in all respects and march towards the second centenary goal. Everyone expressed that they should unite more closely around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as its core, hold high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, fully implement Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, deeply understand the decisive significance of the "two establishments", enhance the "four consciousnesses ", "four self-confidence", and "two upholds", earnestly study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, and move forward courageously to construct a modern socialist country in all respects.
