On March 21, Health Human Resources Development Center of National Health Commission and the French Embassy in China jointly held the “Sino-French high-level seminar series on medical and health care- Internet Hospital and Digital Health” at the French Embassy. As the only Chinese hospital invited to the seminar, Chen Yuguo, President of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University led the team to the meeting and gave a speech. The meeting was presided by Romain Jacquet, Counsellor for Health, Social Affairs and Labor of the French Embassy in China, and Dr. Hu Dan, Deputy Secretary General of the Sino-French Cooperation Center for Health Personnel Training.
At the opening ceremony, Zhang Junhua, Secretary of Party Committee of Health Human Resources Development Center of National Health Commission, and Chen Yuguo, President of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, delivered speeches respectively. Zhang Junhua pointed out that the friendship between China and France has a long history, and the two countries have a good basis and prospects for cooperation in the field of medical and health care. As an excellent national hospital, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University is taking the lead in the field of digital health, while France has been aggressively exploring in the field of digital health, disease screening, and information sharing in recent years. He believes that the two sides have plenty of experience to exchange. At the same time, he hopes that this seminar will lay a good foundation for establishing a more pragmatically cooperative relationship between China and France in the next step.
Chen Yuguo said that in August 2021, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University was supported by a grant from 5G+ Medical and Health Project of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC and the National Health Commission, and Qilu Hospital took the lead in the 5G+ emergency treatment project, leading its counterparts in the country to form an integrated system of community, pre-hospital care, emergency department, multiple disciplines, and critical care, in which 5G information transmission played a key role. At present, with the goal of establishing a national medical center, Qilu Hospital continues to improve medical services, personnel training, and scientific and technological innovation. China and France should strengthen mutual learning to make common progress in the field of internet hospital and digital health.
Xu Feng, Vice President of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, made a report on the theme of "the current situation of Qilu Hospital’s intelligent development", sharing Qilu’s experience in the construction of intelligent hospital. He introduces the development status of Qilu Hospital’s 5G intelligent emergency platform, as well as its process design and optimization to achieve faster, more efficient and more accurate first aid measures for patients.
Mr. Alexandre FOURNIER, Secretary General of the French University Hospital Presidents Association, made a speech on "French Internet Hospitals and Digital Health", introducing the historical origins of French internet hospitals and the exploration during its digitalization process. He hopes that through digital training in the future, healthcare professionals will fully understand the changes brought by digital tools to the industry, and promote the maximum penetration of information technology culture into all aspects.
In round table discussion, Li Yongzai, Director of the Information Network Center of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, Frédéric RIMATTEI, Vice President of Rennes University Hospital, Zheng Wen, Deputy Chief Physician of the Department of Emergency Medicine of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, Dr. Marie COSTES, an expert in the field of intelligent medicine in Rennes University Hospital, and Dong Hui, Deputy Director of the Medical Department of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, shared their experience and insights on “the challenges encountered in the process of medical digitization”, “what digital health can do to make healthcare services more convenient for patients and help vulnerable groups”, “whether the hospital can integrate multiple digital systems in management”, “new technology and application prospect of digital health in China and France”, and “how digital health is changing relations between patients and doctors”, respectively.
Intelligent management and construction of hospitals is an important action to implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the policy decisions of the Central Committee. It is not only related to the high-quality development of the hospital, the level of modernization of hospital governance, but also related to improving patients' experience and people's sense of fulfillment, security, and happiness. At this meeting, Chinese and French experts in the field of healthcare shared experience and discussed on hot issues in this field, which is of positive significance in exploring the construction of intelligent health in China and promoting the high-quality development of the hospital. At the same time, it also brings new opportunities for Sino-French hospitals’ exchanges and cooperation in the field of digital health.
