From August 2 to 6, Chen Yuguo, President of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University led a team to visit Singapore, aiming to expanding communication and cooperation with Singapore’s hospitals, universities, and scientific research institutes.

At Singapore General Hospital and Duke-NUS Medical School, the delegation met with Tan Hiang Khoon, Vice President of Singapore General Hospital, Marcus ONG Eng Hock, Senior Advisor of Singapore General Hospital, Loo Chian Min, Director of Medical Department, Thomas M. Coffman, Dean of Duke-NUS Medical School and Scott Compton, Vice Dean of Duke-NUS Medical School. They discussed many topics including hospital management and operation, hospital layout, medical quality control, scientific and technological innovation and cooperation among hospitals, research institutes, and enterprises, construction of a medical center, and training of physicians and medical students. Consensus were reached on further development of clinical and scientific research cooperation, professionals and techniques exchanges, and jointly establishing training programs of hospital management staff.
During the visit, Duke-NUS Medical School held a joint forum on "Cardiac Arrest Management in Asia", in which Xu Feng, Vice President of Qilu Hospital, gave a lecture titled "Investigation on the Morbidity, Mortality and Risk Factors of Cardiac Arrest of the Chinese Population-China's First Nationwide, Prospective Cardiac Arrest Registry Study".

The delegation also met with Joseph J. Y. Sung, Senior Vice President of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Dean of Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCM), Miao Chun Yan, Dean of the School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE), and Lim Wee Shiong, Director of the Institute of Geriatric and Positive Ageing at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), etc. The delegation also visited LKCM, Joint NTU-UBC Research Centre of Excellence in Active Living for the Elderly (LILY), and Tan Tock Seng Hospital, exchanged practices and experiences in the application of AI technology in clinical practice, and reached an cooperative intention in the field of research on the application of AI technology in medical imaging, and had a deep discussion on  the use of AI technology in solving the major problems faced by the elderly and the aging society, including the cooperation in dementia, Parkinson's, stroke, frailty, and rehabilitation.

 
Relevant responsible persons from the President’s Office, International Office, Department of Radiology, and Department of Emergency Medicine accompanied the visit and participated in relevant activities.
