On January 8th, the National Health Commission released the results of the 2022 Performance Appraisal of National Tertiary Public Hospitals. Qilu Hospital of Shandong University has once again achieved outstanding results, securing the 5th position in the overall national ranking and the A++ status. Notably, the Case Mix Index (CMI), which reflects the hospital's capability in treating difficult, urgent, and critical cases, ranked 3rd nationwide.
 

The Performance Appraisal of National Tertiary Public Hospitals serves as the official evaluation tool to gauge the comprehensive reform and development effectiveness of tertiary public hospitals. It is a significant measure to deepen the reform of public hospitals, promote the construction of modern hospital management systems, and guide tertiary public hospitals in further implementing their functional positioning, enhancing the quality and efficiency of medical services, and advancing the construction of a tiered diagnosis and treatment system. In 2022, a total of 1521 comprehensive tertiary hospitals nationwide participated in this appraisal. Hospitals ranking in the top 1% were awarded the highest rating—A++.
 
The success in this year's appraisal reflects Qilu Hospital's commitment to advancing high-quality development. As a hospital under the administration of the National Health Commission stationed in Shandong, Qilu hospital earnestly follows the decisions of the Party Central Committee and the State Council. With a focus on people's health, the hospital actively implements five key development strategies: "Establishing the hospital on medical services, strengthening the hospital by disciplines, invigorating the hospital by talents, governing the hospital based on law, and leading the hospital with Party building." These strategies are aimed at comprehensively driving the hospital towards high-quality development.

Using the performance appraisal of public hospitals as an impetus, the hospital will drive progress through reform and innovation, and put the high-quality development at its core.
