On the afternoon of March 12, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University hosted the 2024 "Integration Empowers, Momentum Leverages" Healthcare-Media Convergence Innovation Development Seminar at Qilu Building. Li Xiangyang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Shandong University, attended the seminar and delivered a speech. Zhang Shuai, Minister of the Publicity Department of the Party Committee of Shandong University, Chen Xin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Qilu Hospital, and Chen Yuguo, President of Qilu Hospital, attended the seminar. The seminar was presided by Zhang Xinping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Qilu Hospital.
In his speech, Li Xiangyang pointed out that the hospital held a seminar on the innovative development of healthcare-media integration today, inviting the media to diagnose and pulse the development of the hospital and Qilu medicine, which fully demonstrates Qilu Hospital's high regard for publicity work. As an important part of SDU's construction of a "large publicity pattern", it reflects the political position, high consciousness, quick action, and solid implementation of the Party Committee of Qilu Hospital. Li Xiangyang provided three suggestions for the publicity and ideological work of Qilu Hospital. First, Qilu Hospital and its publicity should be looked at from SDU's perspective. Qilu Hospital, as an important part of the construction of Shandong University as a world-class university, bears the dual mission of "educating people for the party, cultivating talents for the country" and "protecting people's health". In publicity work, the hospital should conscientiously implement the party and the country's health work policies and education work policies, strategically prioritize the protection of people's health in the development, focus on the strategic goals and central work of the university and the hospital, and enhance the reputation of the university and the hospital. Second, Qilu Hospital and its publicity should be looked at from the hospital's perspective. As a field of people's livelihood that the public pays significant attention to, the hospital is also a publicity cooperation object that the media pays significant attention to. Qilu Hospital should firmly establish the consciousness of serving the media, the concept of taking the initiative, and the attitude of learning from the media, plan for deep healthcare-media cooperation, establish a unique healthcare-media publicity matrix, focus on "medical treatment, medical skills, and medical arts" for publicity, and enhance the influential slogan of "Qilu Hospital, the best in Eastern China". Third, Qilu Hospital and its publicity should be looked at from the media's perspective. Qilu Hospital ranked fifth in the latest "National Examination" and possesses one of the important positions in China's healthcare field. It is hoped that the media will fully leverage their platform and professional advantages, guide and assist the university and hospital in jointly doing a good job in news publicity, jointly plan in-depth and warm theme reports, continuously innovate in publicity content, form, and channels, and take the initiative to speak out, focus on efforts, and plan deeply, spreading the good voice of Qilu Hospital in the healthcare field.
In his speech, Chen Xin stated that inviting media units to enter Qilu Hospital and jointly carry out activities for the innovative development of healthcare-media integration is an important measure for the hospital to deeply study and implement Xi Jinping's cultural thoughts, implement the spirit of the National People’s Congress, and fully promote the deepening and solidifying of the hospital’s publicity of thought and culture. Chen Xin pointed out that through this seminar, he expressed the hope that the media could further enter Qilu Hospital, understand Qilu Hospital, and recognize Qilu Hospital, and then diagnose and strategize for the hospital's reform and development, continuously strengthening the concept of the healthcare-media "community of shared emotions", "community of shared interests", and "community of shared development". With the support, help, and guidance of the media, the hospital could jointly plan more in-depth and warmer publicity reports, vividly display the lofty professional spirit of medical workers, truly achieve healthcare-media collaboration and healthcare-media integration, and let the results of healthcare-media integration benefit a wider range of people.
Chen Xin emphasized that as an important part of SDU’s "large publicity pattern", this seminar is also an important measure for Qilu Hospital to implement the university's publicity work conference. The hospital's party committee will have a deeper understanding of the extreme importance of doing a good job in publicity of thought and culture, take this major political responsibility on its shoulders, accurately grasp the new situation and tasks, take responsibility in practicing the "seven efforts", tell the warm stories of Qilu Hospital, sing the strong voices of this era of SDU, and strive to create a new situation in Qilu Hospital's publicity of thought and culture.
Chen Yuguo introduced the overall development of the hospital focusing on two major aspects: the history and culture of the hospital, and the highlight work of the hospital in 2024. He stated that in recent years, the hospital's party committee has fully implemented the general requirements of "learning thoughts, strengthening party spirit, focusing on practice, and obtaining new achievements", marking the new practical results of the themed education. In the 2022 "National Examination", the hospital ranked nationwide 5th overall and 3rd in CMI, signifying a new leap in overall strength. The hospital has been actively planning and promoting the implementation of the "healthcare, education, research, production, and governance" five-force integration work mechanism. It has been included in the selection range for the construction of comprehensive national medical centers, marking new progress in the establishment as the national medical center. In terms of national-level scientific research platforms, the hospital has achieved a breakthrough from zero, with the National Natural Science Foundation project reaching a historical high, and scientific and technological innovation has seen new breakthroughs. The hospital has made considerable achievements in the cultivation and recruitment of talents, having cultivated 4 national talents and created a new layout of discipline construction. Chen Guoyu emphasized that the win-win cooperation with the media should be promoted, and the hospital should focus on publicizing the Qilu spirit in the new era, telling the story of striving and elevating of Qilu Hospital, and making a reputation of healthcare for Qilu Hospital, and strive towards the goal of establishing the “three centers and one pilot”, thus to make contribution to the “Healthy China” strategy and the construction of the “Healthy Shandong”.
In the seminar, Li Ning, Minister of the Party Committee Publicity and United Front Work Department, reported on the phasal achievements of promoting publicity of thought and culture in Qilu Hospital, and the specific measures of spreading the voice of SDU.
